About Wyatt Residence

We create a safe and welcoming family-style care facility that provides opportunities, services, and support to enable mentally ill adults to live assisted in the community.

  • We will help each person to live independently as much as possible while providing basic needs such as meals, clothing, personal support, organizing leisure and recreation.
  • We will encourage each individual to function according to their level of independence and every effort will be made to help achieve realistic goals.
  • We will do our best to make our home your home!
  • We cater to people 18 years or older with psychiatric disabilities, who require supporting housing .
  • We will create a family-like atmosphere.
  • We will provide a clean and safe place to develop your independance.
  • We provide extra-large and spacious private and semi-private furnished bedrooms, most with satellite television.
  • We provide shared common areas with satellite television, dvd, game console and designated hobby areas.
  • We will provide opportunities to participate in day programs, part-time jobs, hobbies and planned events in the home.
  • We will provide locked cupboard space to keep personal possessions safe and secure.
  • We have 24 hour support staff available.
  • We have monitored medication compliance.
  • We are licensed under the Ontario Ministry of Health, and we adhere with local fire and health department regulations.

Resident Code of Behaviour

  • For all, residents and staff, to show to one another and to be treated with respect and dignity. Physical, sexual and verbal abuse by either staff or residents will not be tolerated. Any abuse or neglect will be investigated and followed up immediately and appropriate action taken and ensured. All problems will promptly be addressed and supportive and caring measures taken to assist residents to a suitable outcome. 
  • Illegal drugs and alcohol are not allowed in the home and rooms may be monitored or searched by house staff and operator at anytime if suspected to be in the home
  • Residents may smoke only in the designated area outside the home
  • Violence, aggression or bullying are not tolerated in the home
  • Residents must not assault staff persons or other residents in the home and vise versa
  • Foul and inappropriate language is not allowed in the home
  • Residents must not intentionally break household property, furniture, fixtures or appliances in the home. they will be responsible for replacing or paying for damages that would be occurred by them
  • Residents must not tamper with the fire exits, fire extinguishers or smoke alarms
  • Residents must not enter another residents bedroom without permission or invitation and must not use or borrow other residents belongings without consent
  • Residents must not touch other residents
  • Every resident must be compliant to taking medication the is prescribed by a doctor, if full view of staff. Change to medication will only be tolerated by Doctors consent.  
  • Any persons, either staff or residents, that intentionally breaks any of the above house rules will have to deal with home operator and may be asked to leave the premise until matter is resolved by the operators standards.
  • At any time the operator has the right to ask a resident to leave if they are not compliant with house rules and or under the influence of illegal drugs and or alcohol.
